These terms apply to purchases of the online course Foodborne Viruses: What Every Food Professional Needs to Know from ViroSafety Ltd.
Who you are buying from
The course is supplied by ViroSafety Ltd (Company No. 14423780), registered office: 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom. For enquiries, email martin.dagostino@virosafety.co.uk.
UK customers only
Online course purchases are currently available only to customers who normally live in the United Kingdom. You will be asked to provide a UK billing address and confirm UK residency at checkout.
The course
The course is a self-paced online training course covering foodborne viruses, including norovirus, hepatitis A virus and hepatitis E virus. It is delivered through the ViroSafety Tutor LMS website and includes online lessons, quizzes and a certificate of completion where the course requirements are met.
The course is provided in English and requires an internet connection and a modern web browser. Reasonable updates may be made to course content to keep scientific, regulatory and technical information current.
Price and payment
The price shown at checkout is the total course price payable for the order. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. ViroSafety Ltd does not receive or store your full card number.
During testing the course may temporarily be offered at a reduced price. The price displayed at checkout at the time of purchase is the price that applies to that transaction.
Account and access
After successful payment, an account is created or linked to the email address supplied at checkout and access to the course is provided electronically. Course access lasts for 12 months from the date of purchase. You are responsible for providing an accurate email address and keeping your login details secure.
Course access is for the individual purchaser unless ViroSafety Ltd has agreed otherwise in writing. Course content must not be copied, redistributed, shared, resold or made available to other people except where permitted by law.
Immediate access and cancellation rights
If you are purchasing as a consumer, UK distance-selling rules normally provide a 14-day cancellation period for digital content. Because this course is supplied for immediate online access, checkout requires you to:
- expressly request that access to the digital course begins immediately; and
- acknowledge that once supply of the digital content begins, you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel that digital-content contract.
This does not affect your statutory rights if the digital content is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet legal requirements.
Refunds and problems with access
If payment is taken but you cannot access the course, contact ViroSafety Ltd promptly so the problem can be investigated. Where the course cannot be supplied as agreed, an appropriate remedy will be provided in accordance with applicable UK consumer law.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Certificates
A certificate of completion is generated through Tutor LMS when the course completion requirements are satisfied. The certificate confirms completion of this training course and is not a professional licence or formal academic qualification.
Scientific and regulatory information
The course is educational material based on scientific and regulatory information available at the time of preparation. It is not a substitute for site-specific legal, regulatory, laboratory or food-safety advice. Food businesses remain responsible for applying current legal requirements and appropriate risk controls to their own activities.
Privacy
Personal information collected during registration, checkout and course participation is handled in accordance with the ViroSafety Privacy Notice.
